Arthur's Amazing Story
Arthur is the grandson of Ongar Junior's very own Dave Cook, a man that if you broke him in half he'd have the Blue and Red of Ongar Juniors running through him like a stick of rock.
Arthur was born with a rare undiagnosed Neuro-Muscular condition which has meant amongst other things, that he has very little muscle in his lower legs and is unable swallow.
Despite this throughout his first 5 years amazingly he has managed to crawl around, climb furniture, play football talk play and go to school, all the things doctors said he wouldnt be able to do.
A few weeks back however, things turned worse for poor Arthur and just before Christmas, was admitted to hospital with a chest infection, something which despite the best efforts of Doctors, has worsened considerably.
Arthur's parents, Laura and Mark and his siblings Archie and Albert have suffered immensely, with Mark, having to take time off of work which has affected his income, and Laura being at Arthur's side 24/7.
Dave Cook has devoted his time and energy to Ongar Juniors for many many years and it is only right that all of us at Ongar Juniors come together and support him and his family in the most difficult of times.
You know he would do the same if it was you.
To help Arthur and his family, please donate to the Go Fund Me that has been set up.
